Looking at talks: day by day, step by step it is going to take control over internet using security things, SSL already is taken, next is DNS and DNSsec...

Bengt Gördén - 2023-11-28 10:44:03
what is "it"?

Dmitry Serbulov - 2023-11-28 10:55:06
it - is a group who talking about security needed

Dmitry Serbulov - 2023-11-28 11:00:20
First ball already was using by closing SSL to Russia. Next step - using only DNSsec sites in all popular browsers.

Elmar Bins - 2023-11-28 11:00:34
THE CABAL!

Elmar Bins - 2023-11-28 11:01:23
Thanks Brian, good work on the nukes

Dmitry Serbulov - 2023-11-28 11:02:03
LAST will be try to control routing by RPKI

Elmar Bins - 2023-11-28 11:04:17
We'll then all be controlled by Randy. He's been on this for aeons now. </trollfeed>

Elvis-Daniel Velea - 2023-11-28 11:05:28
Randy is IT!

Dmitry Serbulov - 2023-11-28 11:06:33
Most likely the Internet will be not global

Elvis-Daniel Velea - 2023-11-28 11:09:07
Dmitry, I’ve heard this ‘propaganda’ from Russian entities before. RPKI offers YOU control over YOUR resources, not anything else. If after more than 30 years RU community still does not trust RIPE and the NCC, they can go ahead and open their RIR, right?

Antonio Prado - 2023-11-28 11:18:44
Any questions for Christian? Please, use the Q&A function!

Dmitry Serbulov - 2023-11-28 11:30:45
Elvis-Daniel, about SSL at first was talking same - "you can do it by yourself". But now you can't really use self made SSL. With RPCI it will be same. At first all will do it. Next will be open routing only for "good" certificates. Sorry, but "we will not renew certificates for bad guys".

Elvis-Daniel Velea - 2023-11-28 11:39:14
let’s encrypt is free

Antonio Prado - 2023-11-28 11:41:00
Any questions for Jayasree? Please use the Q&A function!

Dmitry Serbulov - 2023-11-28 11:41:33
It is needed open certificate technology for all: SSL, DNSsec and RPKI. But i think, someone global do not want this.

Elvis-Daniel Velea - 2023-11-28 11:46:21
why don’t you make a policy proposal and see who opposes

Dmitry Serbulov - 2023-11-28 11:49:42
I am not in opposition, I just want to warn everyone against the mistakes already made with SSL

Elvis-Daniel Velea - 2023-11-28 11:50:11
just warning is not much help, come with solution

Elmar Bins - 2023-11-28 11:50:23
Elvis is right, you should put some effort in if you want to convince anybody. Otherwise it's just another conspiracy theoriy.

Elmar Bins - 2023-11-28 11:50:47
(also, not even very concrete)

Elmar Bins - 2023-11-28 11:50:55
Elvis: Yeah, LE is free... and a nuisance...

Jelte Jansen - 2023-11-28 11:51:03
also, dnssec does not use certificates

Dmitry Serbulov - 2023-11-28 11:57:26
«Will DNSSEC bring down the certificate industry?» I think, soon we will see, how they will make money on DNS sec.

Elvis-Daniel Velea - 2023-11-28 11:58:33
I will stop answering you because I now believe you are trolling.

Dmitry Serbulov - 2023-11-28 11:59:08
Google and co always give bait for free, wait for the fish to swallow, and only then pull the hook.

Dmitry Serbulov - 2023-11-28 12:09:33
At first we agreed to use crazy IPv6, and now we are breaking our brains - how to make it work :-(.

Peter Hessler - 2023-11-28 12:12:43
uh yea, that violates the rules for SSIDs

Peter Hessler - 2023-11-28 12:13:35
this breaks ipv4 even worse, because clients won't update dhcp until the client timer expires or the link is lost and restored

Antonio Prado - 2023-11-28 12:17:26
Any questions for Jen? Please use the Q&A function!
