Rome has two airports. The main international airport is Leonardo Da Vinci, located near the Fiumicino area. The airport can be reached by bus and train. The second airport is located in Ciampino, on the city’s outskirts and is mostly used by the budget airline RyanAir. Ciampino can only be reached by bus. Both airports have fixed taxi rates from the centre of Rome.

Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO):

Train: From the airport, you can take the Leonardo Express train to Roma Termini, the main train station in Rome. From there, you can either take a taxi directly to the hotel or transfer to a regional train to the Roma Aurelia station, which is closer to the hotel.
Taxi: Taxis are readily available outside the airport terminals. It’s recommended to use official taxis with a visible meter and licence. Alternatively, consider using ride-sharing apps such as ItTaxi and Freenow to book a taxi through your smartphone. The estimated fare from the airport to the Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici costs EUR 31, and the trip duration is around 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure you have cash in hand, as debit/credit cards may not be accepted.

Ciampino Airport (CIA):

Bus: From Ciampino Airport, you can take a shuttle bus to Roma Termini. From there, you can follow the same options as mentioned above for Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport.
Taxi: Taxis are available outside the airport. It’s advisable to use official white taxis and agree on the fare before the journey. The travel time to the Sheraton Rome Parco de’ Medici is approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.
